What is an Apiary?

An apiary is where honey bees live and make honey. In my opinion, this is the best thing we did in Canada. One of the best days so far:

IMG_0001 We started by getting a little lesson on how hives work, the names of the different bees and their job descriptions. We were even able to find the queen bee in all that mess. (Those are the honey bees behind glass.)

IMG_0002 Carter talked to the pig…

IMG_0007 Brayden and Riley fed the goats…

IMG_0008 then raced rubber duckies down a trough, powered by a water pump.

IMG_0015 All the boys raced go-carts around the track…

IMG_0034 not all of the boys enjoyed it.

IMG_0035 Brayden and Riley found some kittens…

IMG_0045 and provided them with good dose of TLC.

Then, it was back to the good old U.S. of A.,

IMG_0059 a nostalgic stop at Bob’s Big Boy for dinner,

IMG_0063 and a welcome to South Bend, Indiana, where we will be spending most of the day tomorrow. Aric wants to visit the University of Notre Dame and the College Football Hall of Fame.
