After driving around for a while trying to figure out the best option to visit downtown Washington DC, we found a light rail terminal that had free parking (since it was a Sunday). It would have cost us a bunch of money since we had to take up 4 parking spaces.:)
The boys loved going on the bus in New Orleans, but they loved the light rail ride much more. This may be one of their favorite things to do in Washington DC.

Before getting to see anything up-close, we found a tree and ate our lunch. As we were finishing up our lunch a huge storm blew through and got us a little wet.
Me and the boys at the base of the Washington Monument. This thing is MASSIVE!!!

All of us between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

As we were talking back along the National Mall area, we found some ducks and we fed them some of Carter’s snacks (since he was not in the mood to eat them).

We have decided to cancel our prior plans to visit Philadelphia and spend a little more time here in Washington DC. We have SO many things we would like to do, but so little time. Plus it will save us a little driving time. We will probably leave DC on Wednesday to head up to Lancaster, PA.
Starting yesterday at Mt. Vernon, I have noticed a new interest of Brayden’s. Since I bought a newer camera right before our trip, I was now able to give the older camera to the kids so they can take pictures of whatever they want. They take pictures of crazy things, but lately Brayden has a huge desire to use the camera in Video mode. I think he took the camera and ran a video for about 20 minutes straight showing everyone his shoes, the rocks on the ground, the leaves on the trees, ants on the floor, etc. He went to town on that thing. That may have been his Directorial Debut. His videos sure are fun to watch though, and it will be fun watching them with him as he gets older.

Yeah, now we can put Brayden to work on our picture collection too. It will be fun to see what pictures he takes.
