College Football Hall of Fame, and 3 “I” states today

June 16

\Today we went to the College Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana.  This was not a planned visit, but a result of us not staying in Battle Creek, Michigan.  We had wanted to visit the Kellogg’s factor, but we have learned that they no longer offer tours.  So, on our way to Nauvoo, Illinios we decided to stop in South Bend.

Ever since our trip to Oregon last October, Brayden has been totally into College Footbell.  I love it, and so does he.  Riley is not quite at the age to really care either way yet.  Brayden remembers what 2 teams were playing on a specific day and the final scores.

Here is Brayden and Riley in front of the College Football Hall of Fame.  Brayden is looking the part.

At the entrance, they have the top 25 in order by hanging their helmets from the ceiling.  Here is BYU at #12.

This is the entrance to the College Football Hall of Fame.  It has a full 30 yards of a football field (along with end zone and uprights). IMG_0008

Riley carrying the ball.  Can’t you tell he’s totally excited? :)  Maybe he will be the ball-boy.

After the Hall of Fame, we drove around the campus of Notre Dame.

After some driving, we finally got to the border of Illinois. IMG_0069

Then on the way to our campground, we found that it was in Iowa (about 20 minutes from Nauvoo, IL).  Interesting thing is that Iowa is on Central Time, while Nauvoo is on Eastern time.  That could easily mess up one’s schedule.IMG_0073

We are likely going to be spending 2 days in Nauvoo, and then head out towards Winter Quarters, Nebraska.
